Bipolar
disorder, sometimes called “manic-depressive disorder” is associated with mood changes that range from the lows of depression
to the highs of mania, energy and happiness. When an individual is depressed
usually feel sad or hopeless and lose interest or pleasure in the daily life
and when mood shifts to the other direction, the individual may feel euphoric
and full of energy. Mood shifts are completely normal in all individuals and
may occur only a few times in life. Bipolar disorder causes symptoms of
depression and mania that occur many times in the same week, day or even worse
at the same time.
